How Do You Tutor Your Kids?

One would think that having grown-up kids would mean graduating from the responsibility of having to tutor them. But sometimes, it’s quite the contrary, because parents still need to show support to their kids no matter on what stage of their school life they already are. Homework help is still one of the major support that we can give to our kids in their studies. In my family, Math problems are always delegated to my husband. It’s automatic that whenever Math help is needed by my kids, they go to their Dad. It’s a good thing that my son, who’s in College, doesn’t need much help in Math because the course that he is taking is concentrated more on Science subjects. While my kids can depend on me more for reading comprehension and language skills, I can also help them a little bit with Fraction, and sometimes when they also need Algebra help, they can also count on me.

Of course, another thing that we can do aside from tutoring them ourselves, is to explore the advantages of online tutoring. This will work for all levels, even up to College level. This also works wonders for all the working moms out there, like myself, because all the kids need to do is to go online, and a tutor will be on hand, and it’s available 24×7. So, I’m sure it will be a great help when my daughter goes to College next year, since she loves Math and most probably, by that time she might need Calculus help and we might not be able to assist her anymore with that.
