Most of us might — at some point in our lives — feel the need to refocus our lives. The reasons might be varied, but it will still boil down to one ultimate goal, that is, to try to give direction to our lives. We might feel that our lives are fine, our family life is going stronger each day or our career is on the right track, but there will be times when we feel something is missing, and that we are missing out on something that is beyond our comprehension. As we try to analyze our life, we might come into conclusion that what we are lacking is the need to nurture ourselves a little bit more. Most probably, in our quest to please those people around us, we have forgotten that it is also important that we please ourselves. If this thing goes on and on, we might feel burned out and abused, that we wouldn’t be capable to give out love anymore, we might feel exhausted from all the giving. It cannot be emphasized enough that we need to love ourselves first and foremost before we can love others. However, on the other side of the coin, another scenario might be that we love ourselves too much that we have forgotten how it is to love others. This entails a more thorough “refocusing”, because there is no person more miserable than a person who does not know how to love others.
We need to refocus our lives in a way that we create a balance between the two: loving ourselves and exuding with such love that we are able to share it abundantly not only with our loved ones, but with other people as well.
