We usually attend the Sunday service in my brother-in-law’s church community in Makati. It’s also a great bonding opportunity for all our kids, who really enjoy each other’s company. We also enjoy attending their church service because we get to hear inspiring talks that help us in facing another challenging week ahead of us. Their coach (as they call their pastor) always impart wisdom and inspiration to those attending the service. Faye also enjoys the Sunday Bible Study for kids where they were taught bible verses and stories. They were also given crafts to finish individually that are also related to their lessons for the day. Faye also attended their Kids Camp last April and it was a wonderful experience for her because she got to know lots of other kids and she also learned a lot of things from the activities that were provided by the camp organizers.
Last Sunday was another opportunity for all the kids to bond. We had lunch at Gilligan’s, which was a big change from our usual KFC lunch. We enjoyed the food while watching the last few rounds of the Cotto-Foreman fight. After lunch, Kaye (one of my nieces) said she will pay for dessert (actually, it was me who asked her to treat us since she just got her pay from her on-the-job training), and it was a choice between coffee from the nearby Starbucks or ice cream from the nearby Rustan’s Supermarket. And what did I choose? Of course a Frappucinno from Starbucks! But then, I was also secretly hoping that she’ll also give me a cup of ice cream!
It was also a time for the adults to bond. I shared with my sister-in-law my plans of scouting for good Disney World Packages and hopefully we can all go together, because for sure the kids will be happier if they are with their cousins. I think we spent 2 hours in Starbucks, just talking and planning for the family’s next year summer get-away. We just spent one weekend in Canyon Cove two weeks ago (and I haven’t blogged about it yet!), but we think it was not enough, so we’re planning of going back to Cove in December.
The kids (actually, plus 2 adults), had a great time eating one half-gallon of ice cream. When I took this photo, I was waiting for them to ask me if I wanted to taste, but no, there was no offer coming! They were really serious in letting me live with what I chose, that is, my frappuccino over a cup of ice cream!
Family bonding moments are really precious, I wouldn’t trade it for anything else. And personally, it’s even more special because I am an only child and I didn’t experience this in my childhood, so now that I have children of my own, I want them to be really close to their cousins for them to experience how is it to have an extended family who loves them and really cares for them.

Sounds like fun!
