Health and Wellness Awareness

An exhibit of the health care providers was held in my office last Wednesday. Major hospitals were invited to showcase the services that they offer, as well as the state-of-the-art facilities that they have.

The company where I work for offers one of the best, if not the best, medical benefit, which covers not only the staff but the family as well. But of course, of all the benefits that you can get from your company, medical benefit is one of those that you wouldn’t wish to avail of if you had the choice. You just want it to be there for your own peace of mind just in case you  or any member of your family gets sick, and my own family has benefited greatly from it.
The hospitals, medical and dental retainers in the exhibit gave lots of giveaways, but for me, St. Luke’s Hospital gave the best giveaway, their very own  Health Advantage Card, valid for  a lifetime, which offers discounts to their various services, like Weekend Wellness, Radiofrequency Treatment, In-Patient and Out-Patient Executive Check-up, Free Vision Screening, Dermatological Examination and Weight Management Assessment, plus discounts on various packages for Cardiac Screening, Diabetes Screening and Basic Cancer Screening.  It’s really going to be a very useful card, but then again, it’s something that you only want to keep in your wallet, with no hope of ever using it, except for some routine check-ups.  The kit that they gave to staff has a temporary Health Advantage Card that will allow the cardholder to enjoy the services at the hospital while waiting for the permanent card.  Too bad, they didn’t have an id card printer, which would have allowed them to immediately give us our permanent card. But, no worries, we could still enjoy their services using the temporary card anyway.
The Asian Hospital staff came in late, but they also gave out very nice giveaways, a complete travel kit, with toothbrush, soap, towel, cotton buds, and it also came in a very nice bag. Although the quantity was very limited, I was lucky to get one for myself.

I think the exhibit was a success, as evidenced by the huge turnout of staff, and I’m sure they will be invited again next year to once again present the new services that they offer.
