Congratulations to President Benigno Aquino III

I have work in the office while the rest of the Philippines is on  a non-working holiday.  That’s how it is in the place where I work.  Well, I’ve become used to that, and for the past 12 years, whenever there are unscheduled holidays declared by the government, I even look forward to leaving the house later than usual and still arrive in the office on time, because there’s no traffic and all the roads are clear.
Today, most Filipinos are glued in front of their TV sets or some even went to Luneta Grandstand to witness the Inauguration of the new President of the Philippines, Benigno Aquino III.  But we in the office were not left behind.  A wide screen was set up in the cafeteria for the live telecast of the inauguration.  Nice of them to do that, eh? So, at 11:30am, most Filipino staff went to the cafeteria to watch this momentous event.

Pardon the skewed photo, my friend and I couldn’t find a good enough place to sit, most of the tables were occupied and this was the best spot, if not for that plant.

Kris really knew where to place herself.  She was in the prime spot, so for sure, in most photos of Pres. Aquino while doing his oath, Kris would be there.

Pres. Aquino’s speech was straight to the point and well-applauded.  He reiterated his promises during the campaign period, and even added some points and stressed some important plans that his government will undertake for the next six years.  His government has a long way to go, and I guess we all know that six years are not enough to be able to pull this country from the corruption in which it was imprisoned by the past administration, but it will be a good start, a very good start, indeed, and the Filipinos deserve to have a new hope to hang on to.
