Faye as a Kiddie Crew for McDonald’s

I enrolled Faye to the McDonald’s Kiddie Crew workshop,  and it kept her busy for one week.  At least, she had something to look forward to everyday.  When we attended the orientation a few days before the workshop, the kids were briefed on the activities that they were going to have, like, a clock which they will color and assemble and  they can display in their rooms once finished.

On their first day, Faye said they were toured around the kitchen, where they were shown how the spaghetti and chicken were being prepared, and how the fries were cooked.

They were also tasked to greet the customers as they enter the restaurant, assist in the drive-thru window, and greet the customers as they approached the counters.

The McDonald’s staff were very nice and patient in training the kids, although, in my opinion, five days were not enough to really train and instill the idea of being a restaurant crew to them.  But it somehow helped in building self-confidence among kids.
The last day of the workshop was just a pre-graduation, they still had a Grand Graduation in World Trade Center, which included the workshop participants from the entire Metro Manila area.  They had a party, which included all the kids in the different time slots for the week.  They had games, food, prizes, and of course, a certificate was also given to them.
The finished clock was also given to them.  It was just a simple clock, but she’s proud of it,  and right now, it’s sitting on her Grandma’s  bay window.

I’m not sure yet if she’ll still join next year’s kiddie crew workshop, because she didn’t seem to enjoy it much.  It just served as a break from the monotony of her week, probably because she didn’t have much opportunity to bond with her batchmates.  It would have been a lot better if the workshop lasted for at least two weeks.  But let’s see, who knows, she might join again if she has friends who will also join next year.
