We have recently started a homebased business in which we offer our services in transferring old VHS tapes into CD/DVD. Actually, we have done this years ago, and in fact, we had already converted our wedding and our two older kids' 1st and 2nd birthday parties. But the software and capture card that we used before was no longer working, so we decided to scout for new capture card, and eventually, we came up with an idea of turning this into a business.
We market the business through various online advertisements, and also in my office. There were good feedback and we were able to get a lot of clients. It's a good homebased business and only a small capital is needed for start-up. We just had to buy supplies like cd-r, dvd, labels, case, and ink for the printer. I make the CD label special by doing a nice cover in a nice scrapbook layout style.
Anybody can start this business, you just need to be patient because it takes a lot of time before you can finish converting a tape into DVD, and you have to watch it before you can give it to your client to make sure that the CD-burning was done properly, but it's all worth it once you see the nice feedback from your client, and their appreciation of your work.

This is a great idea for a home-based business.
How great that you've turned this into a business and one that there would be quite a call for I would imagine.
