Last Sunday, my son took the Ateneo College Entrance Test (ACET). We anticipated the heavy traffic, so we left the house at around 9:30am — his schedule was 1:00pm-6:00pm since there was no available slot anymore for the Saturday and Sunday morning schedules. We arrived in Ateneo at 11:00am, and we were planning of just checking the building and the room first and then we’ll have our lunch outside, but we decided against it when we saw that the vehicles were starting to build-up already, so we just had our lunch in the school’s cafeteria.
We stayed outside the Moro Lorenzo Sports Center Building, it was a long wait and it didn’t help that it was really hot and humid. Faye just entertained herself by running around the area and taking some photos, but she got bored eventually.
They were allowed to get inside at 1:30pm, and by that time, we were already feeling tired because of the heat. It was even better in UP when he took the UPCAT because at that time it was raining so the weather was cool even if we stayed in the school’s canteen, but not in Ateneo — the kids didn’t want to stay there while waiting for Kuya, so we went to SM Pasig and stayed there until it was time to go back to Ateneo to fetch him.
Traffic was even worse when the exam was finished. They were dismissed at 6:30pm but we couldn’t leave at once because the cars were not moving. We were really tired, we had dinner at 8:00pm, and we even had to wake up the kids because they were already sleeping. And uugh! it was Monday the following day! oh well, at least, two schools down… La Salle and UST next…. and then, what else?

cheers to all working moms like us who really take extra miles to give quality time to our kids…it is not easy but it is truly rewarding…
