Faye turned 7 last March 8. Her one and only wish for her birthday was to have a swimming party. It was non-negotiable! So we looked for a venue that was not so expensive and that could be rented out for a minimum of 6 hours.
We prepared early for her party. I bought the materials for her invites as early as January. It was a Message in a Bottle - inspired invitations and i had fun assembling them!Inside the bottle were shells, rocks, little umbrella, colored sand, and the party details. The tag which turned out cute because it was 3-layered -- was at first wasn't like that, i printed it as a card, but it was so big for the bottle, so i just cut each item, Faye's face, the box for the name, and the "you are invited to my party" phrase. I used a twig to tie the tags in the bottle for the finishing effect.

For the party giveaways, we thought of using the mugs that we bought i think, 2 years ago. I printed the "Thank You" message on Delca paper and Dad made it into a personalized mug. I just added candies inside for the kids.

I also made magnets with Faye's thank you message -- i used the same layout for the mugs. I spent lots of late nights for these magnets, but i really had fun doing them. Each magnet was painstakingly done using various beads.

But, i think, the most precious among these is the Birthday Memory Book that i made for Faye. I selected several photos from her birth up to her 6th birthday and made them into scrapbook layouts using the templates from the Princesscrafts.com website of which i am a member. I used their ready-made templates to save time in doing the layouts from scratch. These templates come in pairs, one is the ready-made layout and the other one is for the journaling. I used the journal page for the guests' birthday wishes/dedication for Faye. I'm sure she will love reading those wishes when she gets a little bit older, because right now, she's still having difficulty reading cursive handwriting.
