Kumon — Advanced Student Honor Roll

December 19, 2006 Pearl 0

My little girl’s efforts in Kumon for the past year paid-off. She is a Silver Medalist in the Advanced Student Honor Roll. Those who get Silver medals are 1 year and 6 months ahead of their current Grade level in school. Last year she was a Bronze Medalist — she was in Preparatory last year but she was already doing Grade 1 Math.Having a child enrolled in Kumon takes patience and perseverance. We really had to take time to bring her to the Center every Saturday. Once a week is allowed during school months, but during summer vacation, kids are Read More

Taekwondo

December 15, 2006 Pearl 0

My son had always wanted to experience joining a competition in Taekwondo. He has been taking his lessons for, i think, total of 2 years now. In fact, his current belt which is yellow should have been higher if he was only able to attend the promotional tests in the past.An opportunity for him to join the competition came, but unfortunately, it coincided with the birthday of his sister on December 10. We have new pets, African Lovebirds! After much deliberation with Jejeizahfaye, we named them Tweety and Sylvester at first, but we changed our mind, they’re now TUTTIE and FRUITTIE. We got it from the dolphins which are having a show in the Mall of Asia. They’re still very young, so young, that we had to feed them using a syringe (without the needle, of course!). What’s their food? No less than, Cerelac (Wheat, Banana & Milk)! It’s like we have new babies in the house! The kids are so happy to have them! They are all very excited to feed Read More

I missed you in school, Mommy!

November 13, 2006 Pearl 0

These words came from my little 6-year old girl… I was on leave for 1 week during her semestral break, and we were practically together for that whole week. I even brought her to the office when i went back to work because we had no helper and my mother was still recovering from her sickness. And the following day, i was on leave again because i got sick. So, we were together for the whole duration of her semestral break. After her sem break, everyday when i arrived home, she would really hug me and tell me that, “Mommy, Read More
